Subject: Hello from Elisabeth Mulford and Family
Dear Ms. Schwartz,
I don't know if you remember me or my daughter Elisabeth (from 7th and 9th grade at Gelinas JHS). I was a student teacher for Mrs. Cadolino a few years back and Elisabeth was in your class twice. She wanted to contact you in January because she got a 100! on her Regents Exam. She says she credits learning the Critical Lens essay cold with you. Thanks for all of your diligence with it - it paid off years later.
I am working now as a Leave Replacement at Massapequa. Our Dept. Asst. was at the LILAC conference and attended your Socratic Circle seminar and loved it. A copy of your presentation landed on my desk and I recognized your name. This looks really helpful! My goal for the year is to have this kind of questioning part of the lesson every day. Not easy at first.
We hope you are doing well. Elisabeth and her friends look fondly back on their time in your English class for both grades. You do make a difference!
Best Regards,
Cynthia Porter
