Technology is utilized on a daily basis in the classroom in order to enhance learning. Forms of technology that are used on a daily basis include Power Point / Smart Board, email, eschool / Gradebook, the text message system (Parent-Edge), and turnitin.com.
As part of my established daily routine, students are asked a Do Now as their anticipatory set to get started in class. The Smart Board has several uses as my instructional tool, and presenting the Do Now is one of them. Whenever I am teaching a mini-lesson or have specific procedural instructions, I am sure to give students the visual aid with the use of the Smart Board. Below is an example of a Power Point presentation I have prepared for a lesson on close reading. Students are also encouraged to use the technology we have in our classroom when giving a presentation. By doing so the students are able to engage with technology in a more sophisticated way than they do on a routine basis.
